Redefining Trends in East Bay Upscale Kitchen Remodels

Whether your home is nestled amongst the scenic Berkeley Hills, Albany’s lively waterfront, or the plush green golf courses in San Ramon, at the heart of every home is the kitchen. As the center of day-to-day living, a well-designed kitchen promotes family values, encourages social interaction, and nurtures healthy living. With years of experience in the upscale kitchen remodeling industry, we would like to share a few of our favorite projects and products in hopes of inspiring a transformation of your East Bay home into a visually stunning and exceptionally functional space.

I. WHITE, simple yet brave and inviting!

Upscale Kitchen Remodeling Trends for the East Bay Area: White Tile: Custom Kitchens by John Wilkins
Alameda Kitchen Remodel Featuring Clean, Classic White

Designer White, White Dove, and so many more shades of white create a clean, classic and sophisticated feel to your kitchen in a subtle, but bold way. Many may fear that white or light-colored surfaces are prone to stains and harder to keep clean, however with the proper materials and right design it’s easier than you’d think. We have confidence in these fine finishes, so that you can trust the overall aesthetic and continue to utilize your space without looming reservations.

Take a look at our first featured design. Luxurious frameless white matte laminate cabinets by the eco-friendly Harmoni, Tileshop Berkeley’s Manhattan white glossy subway tile, a waterfall edge finish to the Neolith Estatuario Silk island countertop, and California-made Fyrn bar stools all add a sophistication and elegance to the space. Each element complements the room’s natural light and gives a warm and welcoming appeal, yet there is more to it.

At Custom Kitchens, we believe that pristine performance is just as important as the visual appeal. For this reason, we selected hard to stain Neolith countertops, a SubZero 36” over under refrigerator/freezer that seamlessly matches the cabinet panels, and a professional grade stainless steel Wolf 36” dual fuel range that features ten cooking modes. Prepare a healthy snack or four course meal for your family and friends in style with these quality appliances.

II. MODERN look, natural style.

Many people within the Bay Area retreat to the Californian coast so that they can breathe a little deeper while soaking in the warm blueish grey skies and sandy beaches. Imagine being able to do just that each morning as you nestle into your comfortable Article bar stool and sip your morning tea. Our second designer kitchen offers a zen like experience with its soft rounded finishes, linear lines, and color palette emulating Stinson Beach.

Modern Oakland Kitchen Remodel Focused on Fashion and Function

Fashionable and functional, the Harmoni rift cut white oak cabinetry in a natural finish features gorgeous horizontal grain that compliments the Tilebar Enigma ash blue, polished, textured ceramic tile backsplash. Combined with white quartz countertops that are engineered for durability and easy care, a Viking 5 series 36” range top that ensures perfect temperature control with its Pro Sealed Burner System, VariSimmer™ Setting and SureSpark™ Ignition System, a Viking side by side refrigerator/freezer, and Electrolux 30” double wall ovens means you have all the bare necessities to create five star delicacies in your home. If that isn’t enough, chill your favorite sauvignon blanc in the Zephyr dual zone 24” wine cooler so that it’s ready to serve the moment you need it. And at the end of the night, let yourself relax while the Bosch ENERGY STAR® qualified and quietest dishwasher in the U.S. does all the work.

III. Transitional style, TIMELESS features.

Upscale Kitchen Remodeling Trends for the East Bay Area: Transitional with Moroccan Tile: Custom Kitchens by John Wilkins
Transitional Oakland Kitchen Remodel Featuring Clean Lines and Moroccan Tile

When you think of the perfect combination of traditional textures, sleek contemporary design and decorative craftsmanship you’ll visualize our final featured design. The transitional kitchen showcases clean lines, stainless steel appliances by Thermador, and an awe-inspiring tile from Morocco above the dual fuel 48” range. These elements work beautifully with the classic white herringbone subway tiles, Corian quartz countertops, and cool white Nickels Granville cabinetry for a timeless sense of style.

With the intention of cultivating conversation and comfort we extended the countertop for a breakfast bar, kept the exposed ceiling beams and added wide plank oak wood floors with walnut plugs. The added character and warmth loops us back to our original purpose of why it’s important to make your kitchen stunning and functional.

We Know the Kitchen Is the Heart of the Home

The kitchen will always be the place to replenish ourselves after a long hard day of work, school or play. It will also always be the place where social gatherings start and finish. With that in mind we design kitchens that incorporate the perfect blend of form and function so the homeowners can feel nurtured, nourished, and connected within their space. When it comes to the East Bay, we know residents desire amenities that add value to both their property and their lifestyle. Our upscale kitchen remodels take this into account and offer clientele designs that are not only current, but timeless in all aspects.
