Our staff and trade partners have been with us for decades, and we’re seeking to add a talented and experienced project manager to our valued team.


Job Description:

As a Custom Kitchens Project Manager, you’ll work directly with our homeowners to understand and develop their custom remodeling needs. You’ll be collaborating with our Design team, and guiding the process from the initial home visit through the final inspection. Project Managers at Custom Kitchens are the primary drivers of the pricing and construction phases of our jobs, and as such must have strong technical and construction knowledge in order to lead a team from start to finish. The ability to read and interpret drawings and plans, computer literacy and the ability to use construction based and project management software will be important to a successful candidate.

Project Managers are responsible for keeping jobs on time and on budget, and must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. As the primary contact for clients during the construction process, they should also possess strong communication and administrative skills, as well as leadership characteristics (timeliness, professionalism, listening skills, etc.) that allow them to influence team members and ensure the job gets done.

This is a full-time position with benefits, and flexibility for rotating weekend coverage shared by the team.


Candidate Qualifications:

  • Degree from 2 year design program or degree in construction or similar
  • At least 5 years of experience as a residential construction project manager
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and design plans
  • Experience with project management software (Microsoft Project, Asana or similar)
  • Familiarity with materials & finishes – countertops, cabinets, tile, plumbing and appliances etc.
  • General construction knowledge – plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structural, doors & windows etc.
  • Project estimating and specification writing experience
  • Comfort with basic Microsoft office Programs: Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Good character – professional appearance, excellent oral and written communication, team player, strong work ethic
  • Licensed California Driver and access to a reliable insured vehicle
